Clubbing by WayofTravelbyTom

I am sure you guys know by now that I am a huge fan of partying in style ;)

Whenever I travel I like to go out, have a great time, few drinks and see how people party in different parts of the world. I have seen many different clubs over the last few years and I have seen how night clubs have grown and how they changed over the last few years too. It is amazing how important the setting is, how different places attract different type of people. I personally think that some of the clubs I have experienced might not be for everyone. Depends what you are really into.

Although the places I have seen are very well organised, safe, cool, with the most amazing international Dj’s such as David Guetta, Avicii, Afrojack and many more.

All of them located in the heart of the cities and with either beach access or just around the main city squares. Tose places are not cheap, and drinks will be more expensive than in some other places, but you get great crowds, fantastic music, comfortable areas, fabulous interior and 'major' quality clubbing.

I guess it's enough about clubbing description and let’s get onto actual clubs.

I decided to write about my 3 favourite places, all three of them based in Europe. I am going to focus on European places as I am more familiar with those clubs. I will also like to mention that I am a major fan of clubs in Asia such as Sky Bar at The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong or Potato Beach Club in Seminyak in Bali or Queen in Paris, France, not to mention Pacha Ibiza, which I have definitely enjoyed big time. I am also pretty certain that clubbing in America is amazing too, places like Vegas, LA or NYC are probably as good as the ones in Europe ;) I have not been to the States therefore I can’t say much about it yet.

Here is my Top 3 ultimate Night Clubs in Europe;

-         Opium Barcelona – Fabulous beach location, the most amazing worldwide Dj’s, awesome venues, they have events on every night of the week over summer season, where there is a different theme on every event. If you like some serious VIP clubbing treatment, it is the place you wanna go, you will have own hostess and your private area, where you enjoy few beverages with your friends! OPIUM BARCELONA definitely a must do! Music played - R'N'B, Dance, House, Charts.

-         Papagayo beach Club Tenerife – located in the heart of Las America, popular with tourists, along the beach. This amazing beach club is decorated with white interior and it is in an open air. They serve food during the day,(my favourite dish was Sushi, #amazing) with some chill out tunes, so you can relax and watch the sunset. After 11 pm club turn into a fabulous venue, with people dancing and having lots of fun. I love the VIP area on the second floor, with cool seating area and those awesome umbrellas. You need to pre-book VIP area in advance. Music played - mostly hosue and chill out

-     Everleigh Gardens Dublin

This place is a very special one as it is located in lovely fair city of Dublin and since I live in Dublin I get to go down quite a bit. It is in a heart of the city, on the cool street with different night clubs and bars (which makes it easy to find) called Harcourt Street. This place is fairly big, sort of underground with smoking area outside, in a ‘garden’. I highly recommend to visit when you are visiting Dublin. Music played, mostly dance, chart and house

Santorini Feeling

This perfectly located heaven on earth, called Santorini was always on my agenda list for places I gotta see. This volcanic island on the south of Greece is definitely a 'Must see'.

What is great about this beautiful destination, is the fact that you can easily reach it when you are on a cruise, as you can view the island within a day.

I actually went there for a week. It was sort of a last minute decision. I was visiting Athens and I decided to book a ferry ticket (as I thought it would be amazing to see other islands while being on a boat) and travel down to Santorini Paradise.

I arrived quite late at night, which made it even more exciting due to the fact that all lights around the hotels and houses were lighten up and it made this place look so magical.

I normally book hotels in advance but because October is normally a low season in Greece, I was recommended to pick the accommodation on arrival. I wasn't mistaken, there was plenty to choose from even that late at night. There is few agencies open late, waiting for tourists to get off the last ferry and you can easily choose a hotel or guest house if you like, very reasonably priced (normally Santorini would be very expensive, especially between May-September).

I picked up a villa, not far from the black sand beach, though wasn't located on the beautiful volcanic cliffs, it was very close to the beach and views from my room were amazing.

The next day when I woke up I decided to rent an ATV, which was delivered to my villa, and then I went off on the adventure around the island. Santorini is fairly small, therefore you can see pretty much everything within a day. My favourite place was city of Oia, which has all beautiful churches and cottages and obviously Fira, where you can find all 5star villas and hotels,  spread wide around the cliffs, which you can reach by tiny little paths and spend some time in restaurants and bars. Don’t be taken by a surprise if you meet a donkey when you are trying to get down to the harbour ;)

I also really enjoyed driving around the coast, watching sunsets and checking out white and blue Santorini architecture.

The other thing I will never forget is the most delicious Greek frozen yoghurts. I think it is the best I ever had. I used to drive up to Fira just for the frozen yoghurts!

Santorini has everything you need; beautiful coast line, sunny days, beach and views, and infinity pools with views you will never see anywhere else. Possibly the only thing to watch out for is those crazy dogs running around some deserted public beaches and roads, found the dogs quite aggressive ;)

My Maldives

Time for my next post. And it did not take too much time to figure out what would be the next one.

Sea plane view

Maldives have always been a place from my dreams. Place where I always felt strong connection too. I remember I always loved checking out beautiful photographs or videos of those amazing islands and pristine blue waters. I never thought it would actually be as amazing as on photos.

Wait, the photos don't event justify the actual Maldives feeling. White, sandy beaches, pure, clear waters, turtles, marine fish, including corral sharks, which takes time to get used to btw (just try not bleed, that's my only recommendations lol;)), corrals, pretty water villas and those unforgettable sunsets which you can catch only at Indian Ocean...

Villas

My hotel choice this time was beautiful Kuredu Resort, which you can reach by sea plane, about an hour outside the capital of Maldives - Male. I have never been on a sea plane before so it was pretty exiting experience. Planes are operated by AirMaldives, they are pretty new, so nothing to worry about (if you are a nervous flyer). Service is very good too;) I gotta say landing on the water was certainly surprisingly easy, you felt like you were drifting, so easy. Much nicer landing than the regular one!

Hotel is located on a private island, I would say its a great spot if you are into Scuba Diving, Snorkeling or any other water sports. They have PADI fully licensed team of professional divers, so if you are looking to learn how to dive, that's the place to go. Not a better place on earth for diving too, great colours, huge amounts of fish and other water animals will keep you entertained. Hotel does only all inclusive offers, so there is plenty to choose from drinks and food. There is also a night club, where you can party if you like, but don't expect Barcelona or Ibiza clubbing vibe, as it is certainly not that kinda place;)

Therefore if you are looking for a nice, relaxing break and guaranteed sunshine, that's a place where you wanna escape, and hurry up as the water levels are getting higher and higher...One day those beautiful islands might just disappear from the surface;) For any more info please don't hesitate to contact us through our Instagram page, by leaving comments here or directly on wayoftravelbytom@gmail.com

Hong Kong

Hong Kong would be probably my favourite city in the world.  The orient mixed with British influences. Love it.:)

Check out my Instagram page to see how we got to this beautiful destination

I stayed in HK for few days and I managed to see the highlights of the city such as The Peak, Victoria Harbour, markets, 2 theme parks including amazing Disneyland HK and also went outside HK to reach beautiful statue of Buddha in the mountains, which you can reach by cable train with glass floor...Dope!;)Bare in mind this city is a great place to shop, from top class stores to little markets where you can buy things you have never seen before. Food is also amazing, especially if you like oriental cuisine.

On the way to see The Buddha

My Favourite hotel in HK is also the tallest building in the city - The Ritz Carlton HK. Super amazing building, which as far as I know is the tallest hotel in the world, reaching nearly 130 floors, with the pools overlooking the harbour and outdoor jacuzzi. If you are into spa treatments like myself, you will certainly enjoy a full body massage right on the top floor, overlooking the city. Massage in the clouds, literally, major love. Treatments in a beautiful luxury spa chain ESPA (only available in 5star hotels).

Jacuzzi on the top floor. Unreal

Loved it, would defo like to be back there soon.

Me in my suite overlooking the city of HONG KONG. Breathtaking!

Another hotel worth checking out is Mandarin Oriental. It is a must do hotel, especially when you in a super oriental city of Hong Kong. Recommend Afternoon Tea.

For any more info regarding ESPA treatments or hotel I stayed in, please email wayoftravelybytom@gmail.com or leave comments here or my Instagram page. page http://instagram.com/way_of_travel_by_tom. We will make sure to respond in a timely manner;)
